Are you replacing an old faucet or installing a new updated faucet?
If you are replacing an existing faucet our plumbers can install a new one on the same visit, in most cases. Our plumbers keep a selection of popular faucets in their vans so they are prepared to get your faucet replaced. Our plumbers can also install any faucet that you have already purchased elsewhere. If you need a specialty faucet, our plumbers can measure your sink or countertop faucet hole spacings and work with you to select the right one to fit.
Consider your countertop and sink size when deciding on a faucet.
When looking for a new sink faucet you’ll want to keep in mind the size of your countertop and sink. Too tall of a faucet can lead to excess water being splashed onto the counter. Ideally, you’ll want a faucet to pour water into the center of the sink, or a little behind the center. If it is too far forward the water may likely splash out.
When it comes to the kitchen sink faucet, functionality is key. If you don’t have a deep sink you may want to look into a tall pull-down kitchen faucet, a pull-out faucet, or a pre-rinse style faucet. All of these faucets have a sprayer head that can be easily moved about to make rinsing quick and easy. The tall faucet height will also make filling a large cooking pot much easier. If you have a deep sink and want to keep the faucet low, a low-arc kitchen faucet may be all that you need. In addition to the style of kitchen faucet, you’ll also want to consider its features. Newer modern faucets have a sleek design combining the faucet head with a pull-out adjustable stream sprayer capability. Some models also include a touchless or touch to turn on function. Your faucet options may be guided by the spacing and the number of pre-drilled hole(s). If desired, you can use a cover plate to cover unused holes. Or take advantage of an extra pre-drilled hole by installing a built in water dispenser, or a soap or lotion dispenser.
There are a range of options available for bathroom faucets, from elegant designs to high tech functionalities like touchless features or push button options. Choosing between a separate hot and cold handle or a faucet with a single handle is up to your preference and also partly based on the size and design of your sink area. Ideally, you want the faucet to extend either to the middle of the sink or slightly behind it to ensure that water will have less opportunity to splash onto the user. Pairing a modern faucet with a vessel sink can add elegance and beauty to your bathroom space.
