I blew out a breaker in our main fuse box while replacing an old light switch and needed help quick because of the major appliances on it. I recently bought an older house that still had its original furnace and AC and they weren't working very well due to age. I got quotes from around 5 companies. I decided I wanted to go with Black Diamond due to previous excellent experiences with them, however their price wasn't the lowest. I asked them to match the lowest price, and they actually gave me a price lower than what I asked them to match. They were able to get me onto their schedule quickly, and did the work well. Bryan came out to help me problem solve an electrical issue that fried my clothes washer and dryer. I called early in the day and she arrived 2 hours later, SLIGHTLY AHEAD of the scheduled window. He walked me through what he was doing, explaining everything to me along the way. Although he had only planned time for a diagnostic visit, he replaced a subpanel in my basement and rewired an electrical outlet so that my washer and dryer were properly grounded and had a dedicated circuit. He did it on the spot and got it done quickly. Price was very reasonable, service was great, and he really went above and beyond to make sure everything was not only working properly, but allowed for future expansion and looked nice. He didn't try to sell services or products I did not need and there were no surprise charges. I have worked with several electricians in SLC, and recommend Bryan without hesitation. Wonderful customer service and follow through. Their prices are one of the best in the industry I have found. We were selling our home and had the furnace inspected per our contract. Our old unit was found to be defective and very expensive to fix. The knowledgeable staff helped us decide to go with an entirely new unit as fixing the old one would have cost just as much.We were visited by Justin and Lindy the next day who arrived at 8:45 AM and they had the new unit installed and working by 11:30 AM. They were a pleasure to work with and very courteous. Even though we will not be enjoying their great work for long, it was well worth the excellent deal they gave us on the unit. Josh worked on our 1978 home and we are so thankful we had someone with his skill and expertise to replace our electrical panel. These guys are the best, if you need anything done, electrical, heating and air they are the ones to go to. I had to have a gas line installed and the electrical outlet behind the stove changed and they did a wonderful job. I was also told my new system would be installed by a highly qualified expert(Justin). Justin arrived early and called ahead of arrival. We had an electrician out today to fix a outlet that kept tripping. Jared provided excellent, knowledgable and friendly service. I have been wanting to set up a service plan for my AC and furnace for a couple of days. Arranged a seasonal furnace tune up along with fixing the problem with a leak from condensation drain line. The technician, Rob, discovered a missing rubber cap on the clean out box next to the furnace. That was causing the condensation water to drain from the clean out hole of the box attached to the furnace. After checking the system he verified there was no other issue, he returned to my home a couple days later with replacement caps. It was Friday night at the end of long work week for him. I truly appreciated his extra trip to take care of the problem before the weekend. Look no further! We just finished three days of solid electrical work with Black Diamond including 3 to 4 people on site to install a new 200 amp meter base, a new panel, a sub-panel, recessed lighting and more. This was a significant purchase for us and we were naturally concerned about the outcome; but the professionalism and expertise we received from Jeremy, Brian and Bryce was second to none. It is easy to see how these guys (and Black Diamond) are successful. This is a creative bunch of guys who love what they do and are just generally good people that we enjoyed being around. We received a same-day quote for our project which outlined everything we discussed with Jeremy in person, in our property. It was line-itemed in a way that we could remove some items and do them later if desired, which helps us spread out the work over time. There was no pressure to buy anything. Our favorite part of the experience other than the fantastic new electrical installation, was the attitude and work ethic of the guys working around house – and the final walk-thru with Jeremy who outlined everything they installed, answering all of our questions. He left us with an open invitation to contact him anytime we needed help with anything they installed or questions we have in general, reminding us he's local and ready to help. Black Diamond is the BOMB DOT COM!!! Excellent service, efficiency, timeliness, employees. Everything they do is for the customer! They are CRAZY GOOD. TODD is a ROCKSTAR!!! He's been working with us through our electric and AC issues and he couldn't have done a better job. SEAN, ALAN, and TODD basically had to rewire our entire house in the blazing heat (because our AC had to be turned off). They finished when they said they would and fixed every issue we were having. I LOVE THEM! They seriously need a HUGE raise. I also had some work done on my AC unit the next day to get the capacitor replaced. BOB came and solved the problem in a matter of seconds. I had several plumbing problems that needed fixing before my open house. I was impressed with the technician that came out and did a thorough job inspecting what needed fixing. Another technician came out the next day and did the work. Later I noticed one of the problems continued. The company responded quickly and came back right away and fixed the problem. Chris came out to my house in a timely manner. On first inspection he suggested that the problem may be a burned out motor. But he opened up the unit and performed a close inspection. Upon that inspection he found that the problem was a burned out capacitor, an inexpensive part on hand. A few minutes later, the unit was up and running perfectly, as it has been ever sense.What I feared could be an expensive proposition turned out to be a quick, very reasonable effort - well worth the call. I live in an older home that has only dim lighting, and zero lights in the family room. I had Black Diamond come and put six canned lights in. From quote to finish they were friendly and accommodating. The customer service was good and the work went smoothly. They had to cut in to my walls but were very upfront about exactly what they would be doing. They made sure I approved can placement before making the cuts into the ceiling. Great work - but very expensive!!! I have used Black Diamond quite a bit in the last two years as we bough a fixer upper. In this market, it is difficult to find good contractors and I know that when I call them I am always going to get top notch work. That said, I have another electrician that I use when I do not have urgent need that does the same quality work for half the price. I am thrilled with the work they did, but $400 for a switch and two plugs - in my opinion - is very pricey. I give them 5 stars for quality - but I would not describe them as an "exceptional value".read more

Having just bought a nearly 100 year old home we needed some estimates for work that we had to have done. Kyle came out to my home (on time) and did a very thorough inspection of everything we needed done (basing it off of our home inspection when we bought the house) and he also noticed some other items that could/needed to be fixed. Comparing his estimate to another local electrician his came in so reasonable and I really liked Kyle himself. He was a straight shooter and made me feel very confident in his knowledge and know-how. We decided to have a few things repaired and installed right away while we have to wait for others. Kyle and Josh came out and did the actual work and again, on time, courteous and lots of know-how. They came back to following day to assure me that the leak was fixed and it was safe for my daughter to play in the yard. Excellent customer service. I had Black Diamond do the re-piping of my water lines for me, and overall, it was a great experience. They were courteous, professional, friendly, and honest. Their pricing was significantly lower than all the other bids I got from the big plumbing companies; they provided a very detailed quote that outlined all the work they'd be doing. And in the end, they did fantastic work. It didn't go 100% smooth, but I've got an old house, and from my own experience, I know it can be tricky to work with. But even when they ran into some hiccups with the work, they honored the original quote, and they rectified the problem to my complete satisfaction. Tip: if you're doing a big project or repair, consider signing up for their Service Partner Plan. I truly can not say enough positive things about this company as a whole, specifically the electrical and plumbing departments. I recently bought a house that needed to be brought up to current electrical and plumbing code. A HUGE undertaking, that required a complete re-wire and re-plumb from top to bottom. Today was my first experience with Black Diamond Electric. I had all of my landscape lights go out. I had called another company previously that came out to service my problem a few weeks back. I needed someone to come out as soon as possible for two small jobs. Switching out light fixtures and hooking up a gas stove (with electric). Black Diamond rocks. They offered expertise and timely services at every stage during our recent kitchen and bath remodel. We worked with Black Diamond electricians, plumbers and HVAC personnel. Office professionals courteously fielded questions and concerns. The electrical services seem to be the strongest division. Bryce and Bryan went the extra mile to help design the lighting and outlets in our kitchen and bath. The under cabinet LED lights on a dimmer create warm ambient light. The other zones on dimmers create optimal work light as well as soft light. They arrived when scheduled, always asked for clarification and cleaned up. The dry wall installer and framer noticed their work and mentioned they usually don't see such expertise on other remodels. On the final day Bryce and Bryan worked well into the evening to finish up. Overall we are very pleased!read more

The technician was polite, answered all my questions, and solved my issue quickly. I will definitely use them again.Update: I had them come service my furnace and flush my tankless water heater this morning. Joel did a great job. Jeremy Fenn was very profession, showed up on time so that means Black Diamond Electric already surpassed most businesses I have dealt with in Park City. During installation he communicated with me the whole way and made great suggestions that I agreed to. The price for the area I am in was very fear compared to other companies jacking up the price because we live in Park City. He installed two 240v power to two separate location with two Z-Wave boxes to control my deicing heat tape on roof. Took the time to go to store to get paint to paint conduit to match house color. We recently purchased a home in Sandy and needed some electrical work done. We had four electricians, Bryce, Bryan, Kyle and Kaleb. The were all very respectful of our home and walked us through different elements of the job. Because we had so much work, we had two visits. After each appointment, the house was left clean and the performed work was explained to us. Our house was built in the 1950's and has some pretty crazy electrical issues. They were able to troubleshoot problems that the previous owner could never address. It is such a comfort to know that our old house has the newest and best electrical work done and is safe for our young family.read more

After saving up an electrical "To Do" list for several years, we finally gave Black Diamond a call. They took the time to fully diagnose everything that I asked them to check, and gave us a reasonable price for all of their services. They also found (and repaired) a couple of other, small repairs that they fixed for us at no additional charge.
